The events of the past year have changed us all. None of us are the same people we were before the pandemic or racial unrest. We need to create the space and time to understand who we are now, not only as individuals, but as family members, colleagues, and community members. CultureSync U is a transformational program that creates the space and time for a greater understanding of ourselves, our working relationships, and the growing intercultural presence in today’s world. We provide courses that develop the skills and strategies necessary to cultivate intercultural relationships that work together within the context of your organization, business, or community.

How do we navigate and honor cultural differences? We start by knowing ourselves first.

Minnesota Tribal/State Relations Training

Hi, I’m Ed Minnema

"I've had the privilege of living and working in Native American communities for the past 25 years. The deep relationships and lessons I've learned have made me who I am today. It's time that I share these lessons. Today's divided world is desperate for leaders who can navigate cultural networks while still honoring difference. That is why I created this course - to guide everyday leaders, like you, on their journey towards authentic realization and cultural competency. I look forward to walking this path with you."

Ed Minnema's professional experience includes twenty-seven years of educational, corporate, and administrative leadership. He moved to the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe reservation in 1995 to serve as music teacher at the Nay Ah Shing school. Ed team-taught with Ojibwe elder Larry Matrious, who taught Ed the Ojibwe language and culture. Ed and Larry composed contemporary children's music in Ojibwe to help preserve the language while instilling humor and fun in the learning process. Dr. Minnema has also served as assistant professor at the University of Minnesota - Duluth where he taught strategic management, human resources, project management, and operations within the Master's of Tribal Administration and Governance program (MTAG). Ed holds a doctorate in Educational Policy and Administration from the University of Minnesota, and currently serves as Chief Operations Officer at the Native American Community Development Institute in Minneapolis.
